At iFeel, we believe that education is the key to ending poverty and injustice. We started with a simple goal of providing basic education to children who were not going to school and spent their time in streets and garbage heaps. And today, we have grown to become a formal organization with multiple schools across Islamabad, offering free primary education to over age children.
Our success is a result of the dedication of our sponsors, teaching staff, and volunteers who feel a sense of belonging and achievement by being a part of our project. We have seen the lives of our students transformed, with fathers who were earlier against girls’ education now eagerly sending their daughters to school. And people living in slums who were earlier not in favor of their children’s schooling have now become ambassadors of education for their families.
We believe that education is not just about reading, writing, and comprehension but about opening up a whole world of knowledge and learning. And to ensure that our students receive the best quality education, we offer regular evaluation of their skills and constant training and guidance to our teachers. Our vision is to achieve 100% literacy in Islamabad and replicate our system across Pakistan.
And to achieve this, we are planning to construct a building to set up an institute offering teachers training and technical education, creating educational entrepreneurs who are capable of setting up schools with minimum possible resources.
At iFeel, we believe that the future is equal, and education is the key to achieving this. Join us today and let’s build a more equal future—together.
Dates back to 2007 when weekly visits were made to a slum area in Islamabad, Pakistan. The aim of these visits was to provide basic education, medical assistance, winter clothing, and food to the children who were not attending school and spent their time on the streets or garbage heaps.
The project gained momentum in 2009 when four rooms were allocated to educate overage children who had missed the opportunity to attend school. Around 30 students were initially enrolled, and the project was named OSCS, Out of School Children’s School. A system was developed to target the specific needs of overage children and provide them with fast track education to save their lost time.
With the growing number of schools and finances, the team behind OSCS felt the need to formalize the organization and approach sponsors and well-wishers with a more structured foundation. Thus, in 2013, iFeel – International Foundation for Education, Empowerment, and Learning was formed.
Since its formation, iFeel has continued to evolve and improve its system of education to cater to the needs of overage children. The foundation is committed to providing free education, healthcare, and vocational training to underprivileged children in Pakistan.
